Jeju Tea Oasis Blooms in Seoul: Wellness Experience Arrives

Hoesoodaok, a renowned tea house from Jeju Island celebrated for its wellness offerings, has launched a pop-up store in Seoul. This unique venture aims to bring the serene and natural essence of Jeju to the bustling heart of the capital city. The pop-up, hosted at Seochon Lounge, a public hanok space managed by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, will be open until May 31. This expansion follows Hoesoodaok’s recent recognition as one of the four new “Excellent Wellness Tourism Destinations for 2026” by the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO). Out of 88 sites evaluated, Hoesoodaok was the sole establishment from Jeju to receive this prestigious title this year. The pop-up store presents a curated experience of Hoesoodaok’s signature tea course, adapted for a Seoul audience. Visitors can savor a variety of seasonal teas, meticulously brewed using Samdasoo, the pure volcanic bedrock water sourced from Jeju Island. These teas are complemented by delicate tea snacks crafted from locally grown Jeju crops. The presentation is elevated through the use of ceramics created by talented local Jeju artists, including notable potters Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Seong-sil. Their artworks, inspired by Jeju’s natural elements like wind, stones, and volcanic soil, aim to immerse visitors in the island’s scenic beauty, even within the urban environment of Seoul.

From April 7 onwards, the pop-up will introduce special tea programs that evolve with the changing harvest seasons. April’s offerings will include two types of flower teas and a traditional roasted tea, while May will feature three varieties of fresh spring teas. This seasonal approach ensures a dynamic and engaging experience for repeat visitors. Beyond the beverages and snacks, the pop-up also serves as a platform to showcase the artistry of Jeju, with ceramics from renowned local potters on display. This integration of art and tea aims to provide a holistic sensory experience, connecting guests with the culture and natural landscape of Jeju.

Seo Kyoung-ae, CEO of Hoesoodaok, expressed her excitement for the pop-up, noting that it coincides with the brand’s second anniversary and its recent KTO designation. “I hope visitors can fully enjoy the genuine taste and atmosphere of Jeju through our clean water, local crops and the works of Jeju artists,” Seo stated. Further details on the exhibition schedule and reservations for the tea programs are accessible through the official Instagram accounts of Seochon Lounge and Hoesoodaok.
