Amex Drops Graphite Card: Unlimited 2% Cash Back for Businesses

American Express has unveiled its new Graphite™ Business Cash Unlimited Card, signaling a significant expansion in its commercial product offerings for 2026. This launch is part of a larger strategy to introduce eight new or enhanced products, benefits, and capabilities designed to streamline financial operations and boost productivity for businesses of all sizes.

Ambitious Commercial Product Expansion

American Express is positioning 2026 as a pivotal year for its commercial business, with the Graphite™ Business Cash Unlimited Card being the first in a series of planned rollouts. Raymond Joabar, Group President of Global Commercial Services at American Express, emphasized the company’s commitment to providing businesses with trusted partners and solutions that simplify operations, allowing them to focus on growth. The company’s extensive reach is highlighted by its position as the largest U.S. small business card issuer by spend and its service to over 4.3 million U.S. small business customers. Furthermore, a majority of the top 100 largest public U.S. companies are American Express Corporate customers.

Enhanced Rewards and Business Tools

The Graphite™ Business Cash Unlimited Card is designed for business leaders who value simplicity and flexible spend capacity. Beyond its robust cash-back rewards, the card offers features to help manage cash flow, including “Pay Over Time” for carrying a balance with interest and “No Preset Spending Limit,” which adjusts based on spending history. The card also provides access to statement credits for American Express’ One AP platform, a business tool for accounts payable automation, after meeting specific spending thresholds. Integration with other American Express financial tools, such as the Business Checking Account and the Business Line of Credit, further supports business financial management.

Leveraging AI for Business Productivity

In line with industry trends, American Express is integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into its business offerings. A notable example is the introduction of a $300 ChatGPT Business statement credit for U.S. Business Platinum and Business Gold Card Members, aimed at saving time and reducing manual processes. This initiative is supported by survey data indicating that small business owners using AI report significant time savings and improved productivity. The company also plans to introduce an Insights Agent for corporate customers and an AI-powered expense app for corporate card members.
