The operation escalated into direct, in-person surveillance, during which the suspect allegedly detailed plans to utilize Molotov cocktails to destroy property and inflict harm at Kiswani’s home.

The undercover operation reached a critical juncture on Thursday, when Heifler was apprehended at his Hoboken home. Investigators reportedly found him in the process of assembling the incendiary devices, utilizing materials such as high-proof alcohol, rags, and glass containers. Prosecutors allege that Heifler had previously conducted surveillance of Kiswani’s residence with an undercover detective, discussing his intent to throw firebombs directly into the home and at vehicles parked nearby.
“Our undercover officer identified and tracked the threat—first online and then in person—allowing us to disrupt the planned attack, take Heifler into custody, and ensure that no one was harmed,” NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch stated. The suspect has been charged with firearms-related offenses stemming from the illegal possession and manufacturing of explosive devices.
